2012 turned into a year of beauty products for me. Between competing for Miss Texas, being a bridesmaid for the first time, and just wanting to look nice for the day I’m willing to bet I tried almost every cosmetic the Target beauty section had to offer. Annnnnnd since I’m a gem, I’m telling you the holy grail beauty products I’ve found to save you some time. Unless you like spending hours and hours trying make up, in which case rock on and go ahead.

TRESemme Mega firm control hair gel—My hair goes all sorts of frizzy when the heat hits, so I put this in my hair before I straighten it. It keeps my hair straight and frizz free, plus seems to be stronger than other gels I’ve used.

L’oreal BB cream—In love with this stuff. I wear it every day, either under my foundation or as my foundation, depending on my schedule for the day. It makes your skin look all dewy and luminous.

Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse—Hands down my favorite foundation. I’ve tried a million, but this one makes my skin look poreless.

Blistex allergy lip stick—I’m allergic to paprika, and part of the reaction is swollen, burning lips. I bought this stuff on a whim because my regular chapstick felt like it was melting off my lips during a pretty bad reaction, and it’s magic. It helps the reaction stop sooner (or at least it seems like it does) and smells amazing.

Maybelline eye shadow—I use the brown in my crease. Maybelline eye shadows seem to have some of the best color. It’s strong, and stays on.

Great Lash—Cult classic, makes my eyelashes look ridiculous.

Equate eye make up remover—I used to use Almay, but stopped wanting to spend six or seven dollars on it. This stuff works just as well and is half the price.

NYC matte powder foundation—I use this as a finishing powder. It adds a little bit of color and coverage.

Covergirl blush—I’ve used this stuff since I was fourteen. Perfect color, goes on smooth, lasts forever.

Maybelline lipstick—I love these because they go on a little sheer, and you can build on the color.

Physicians Formula eyecolor eyeshadow pallet—Perfect accent colors, and it comes with a little sponge brush that make it easier to apply.

NYC liquid concealer—this goes on thick, lasts long and is super, super cheap.

Ulta eyeshadow—I use a neutral color for everyday use, and this one is perfect. It goes on smooth, and the glitter isn’t overwhelming, but helps make me look a little more awake.

ELF marker eyeliner—This sucker is a dollar, goes on perfect, and lasts all day.

ELF concealer/highlighter duo—I use this more for the highlighter, but I love how it looks on. My only complaint is that the packaging that connects them broke pretty quickly.

Revlon Lip Balm Stain—This stuff is amazing for color and moisture. It lasts through nine hour shifts, and the colors are incredible.

Any holy grail items I missed? And does anyone know if you’re supposed to change your skin care regimen once you hit twenty? Skincare is the area I have no idea about, and I should probably get on that.
